Electrical power supply and electrical appliances
-
When using the inverter, the total power consumption of devices connected to the 230 V sockets must not exceed:
- 600 W while the engine is running;
- 1500 W while the engine is switched off.
- Do not leave the inverter switched on continuously. Use it only when necessary.
- The rear air conditioner must not be operated via the inverter. It may only be used when the motorhome is connected to an external 230 V power supply.
- Before connecting the motorhome to an external power supply, always switch the inverter off.
- When the motorhome is connected to an external 230 V power supply, starting the engine is strictly prohibited.
- The refrigerator does not cool down immediately. It requires several hours of continuous operation to reach its operating temperature. Whenever changing the power source (battery / 230 V / gas), always ensure that the correct operating mode is selected.
Awning
- Always secure the awning support legs with pegs or weights when using the awning.
- Do not leave the awning open in strong winds, during rainfall, or unattended. The awning is designed to provide shade from the sun, not protection from rain. Accumulated rainwater may damage the awning.
- Before use, read the awning operating instructions.
Technical skills (especially for long-term rentals)
The following basic skills are recommended:
- replacing a blown light bulb or fuse;
- checking the engine oil and other fluid levels;
- inflating tyres;
- tightening loose fasteners and carrying out minor repairs.
Turbo diesel engine operation
- Before starting the engine, switch on the ignition and wait until the glow plug indicator light goes out. Only then start the engine.
- After starting the engine, avoid applying heavy load immediately. Let the engine idle for a few minutes or start driving gently.
- After a long or intensive drive, do not switch off the engine immediately. Let it idle for at least one minute so that the turbocharger can cool down.
While driving
- All living compartment windows, roof hatches and doors must be fully closed.
- Avoid driving between trees and bushes to prevent body damage caused by branches.
- Do not exceed 100 km/h.
- Avoid prolonged engine operation above 2500 rpm.
- Using the motorhome above the permitted gross vehicle weight of 3500 kg is prohibited.
Sanitary rules
- Do not dispose of foreign objects or ordinary toilet paper into the toilet. Use only special toilet paper intended for motorhome toilets (available from the Lessor).
- Grey water and black water may only be emptied at designated disposal stations.
Gas cylinders
- From August to April, do not fill the gas cylinders more than necessary when travelling to Southern Europe (south of Switzerland).
- Whenever possible, avoid refuelling gas in Italy, as different tax regulations apply to LPG for domestic use and automotive LPG, which may raise questions during inspections.
Cleaning after the rental period
Regardless of whether cleaning has been ordered from the Lessor:
- all dishes must be clean and complete;
- there must be no stains on interior surfaces requiring chemical cleaning or special treatment;
- the toilet cassette must not be overfilled.
If cleaning has not been ordered from the Lessor:
- the interior must be free of rubbish, visible dirt and unpleasant odours;
- special attention must be paid to the refrigerator, mirrors, windows, toilet, beds and seats;
- the grey water tank and toilet cassette must be completely emptied;
- the toilet cassette must be rinsed several times with clean water and returned empty (no new chemical additive is required);
- the exterior of the motorhome must be clean, especially the front section – insect residue must be removed.
There is little point in washing the motorhome long before returning it, as it will most likely become dirty again during the journey.
